We are very proud to announce that our Managing Director has been selected as a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the year programme.

The EY Entrepreneur of The Year™ programme was established more than 30 years ago and today operates in more than 60 countries and 145 cities around the world. The programme runs in four regions – London & South East, Midlands & South West, North, and Scotland. Entrants compete in their regional programme based on their business’ main location. Steve was selected as winner in the Midlands and South West region with other respectable entrepreneurs such as Ben Francis, the Founder and Chief brand officer of Gymshark the fitness apparel brand.

The UK programme is more than a business award – it is part of a global programme which helps entrepreneurial businesses around the world. Humanity is capable of great things, but to build something of long-term value takes grit, persistence, and a sense of ambition that’s free of doubt or fear. It takes a special kind of leader to ignore the critics and transform a blue-sky dream into a new reality that contributes value and purpose beyond simple profits. We are so proud of Steve for being recognised as one of the best entrepreneurs in the UK and we look forward to celebrating his success.

Joanna Santinon, Partner and EY Entrepreneur of The Year leader, UK, said: “Entrepreneurs are facing one of the most challenging environments’ we’ve seen, and we continue to be impressed by their relentless determination and resilience in an uncertain climate. The calibre of all the applicants has been truly inspiring. While some of our finalists have had to navigate a very turbulent year, some have been able to seize unexpected opportunities to accelerate growth.”

Steve said “I am delighted to have been selected as an EY Entrepreneur of The Year 2020 UK finalist alongside so many brilliant entrepreneurs. I can’t wait to see where my EOYUK journey takes me.”

The UK finalists will progress to the UK judging and final, vying for the title ‘EY UK Entrepreneur of The Year’. The overall winner will then represent the UK at the ‘EY World Entrepreneur of The Year’ in summer 2021, a forum which attracts the world’s most inspiring entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries.

From us all at Light Source, we wish Steve the best of luck for his success in this incredible programme.
